After my site visit, I had a walk around and took some photographs of the surrounding area to show the different buildings etc. that surround the Albion Brewery. The photographs, in a way are evidence that my idea for a Co-Working business and hospitality hub will be suitable for this location and this building. It is an area full of hospitality and leisure related uses – including; restaurants, bars, night clubs, casino, retail and hotels. And there are companies and businesses that operate in the nearby area – the soon to be opened Angel Project development which will be home to Northampton Borough Council, Walter Tull House which is the probation offices and many other office buildings nearby. Additionally, there are businesses such as Carlsberg in the immediate area and the new University campus is close by. These people all may wish to make use of the co-working business and hospitality hub that I am proposing for the Albion Brewery. They may wish to go here to use the hospitality facilities such as the restaurant for lunch or the bar in the evenings. Or they can also use the informal ground floor work space if they wish or even hire out a more private space.
It is also close to the cultural quarter and there are a lot of creatives coming into Northampton who may wish to use the work spaces and leisure facilities that come with it. And the users of the Vulcan works that is becoming a cultural hub and the Innovation Centre that is home to businesses may wish to make use of the space. There are lots of start ups, small independent freelancers and entrepreneurs who can use the space which will form a community. Or even visitors to Northampton who bring their work with them and need a space to work in, such as visiting business people, visiting creatives, visiting University Lecturers maybe. Due to all of these factors, the location is ideal for a co-working business and hospitality hub.
Below is just a few of the photographs that I took.
