Today I visited the Surface Design Show in Islington, London as a University trip where I was able to collect brochures and samples to inspire me in my design work. Additionally, it gives me an insight into companies that I can order from in the future.
There were a wide range of materials and products that I would never have known about if I did not attend the Surface Design Show. There were some companies that I was particularly impressed by and some of them allowed me to take photographs of their stands.
Through this visit, I found a lot of materials that I would like to use in my design of the stable blocks at Delapre Abbey that I will be turning into a Gin Distillery and Bar. These materials will also be suitable for the Perfumery, Glass works and Ceramic workshop that will also be at the site. And there were many materials that I would use in future projects.
It was a great trade fair to attend to keep up with the latest trends in materials and products. It is important now that I attend the Surface Design Show every year.
