Next time I’m in this part of London, I really want to visit Bishopsgate Sushi Samba to sample the incredible sushi, the vibrant interior design and take in the amazing view of London. I’m not the biggest fan of heights, but I do love an amazing view. And it would be essential for me to visit the highest outdoor dining terrace in Europe as I can’t miss this stunning panoramic view of the city because where else would I get a view like this…
Sushi Samba in Bishopsgate, London by Cetra Ruddy
The Sushi Samba Restaurant in Bishopsgate, London was designed by the Architects and Interior Designers Cetra Ruddy. Located high up on the 38th and 39th floors at 110 Bishopsgate, Sushi Samba London features the highest outdoor dining terraces in Europe, and offers unparalleled, panoramic 360 degree views of the capital city. Two modern panoramic glass elevators whisk guests from the ground to the 39th floor, opening up a stunning view of London from inside-out as the lifts ascend further and further skywards.
Only at the Sushi Samba restaurant will you find a unique blend of Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian culture and cuisine. SUSHISAMBA is born of the energy and spirit of these three distinctive and distinct cultures… Sushi Samba serves traditional dishes with a more inventive fare, including sawagani, tuna tataki and anticuchos. Equal parts imagination and history, the Sushi Samba experience is truly unique in every way…
Interior Design Born of Cultural Vibrancy and Energy
The main dining room of Sushi Samba overlooks unparalleled views of the city of London with floor-to-ceiling glass windows. A grid of shimmering lights hangs through the open bamboo grid ceiling at varying heights, creating a magical experience during daytime and a truly intimate and romantic atmosphere in the evening…
The bright orangy red accents in the booth seating sit beautifully amongst the natural wood tones, the tan leather of the chairs and the stunning glossy black and white zig-zag contrast floor. And the greenery from the plants adds another accent element while with the bamboo structure; brings the outside into the contemporary sophisticated interior. The colour, materials, structures and lighting all add the cultural vibrancy to the space and the bursts of vibrant colour amplify the cultural energy of the whole space.
Indoor-outdoor elements weave throughout the interior space with the weaving bamboo and the botanical greenery of the plants bringing the outside in. And most notably, the structural orange tree on the west terrace. It’s a Sushi Samba icon, the tree sculpture reinforces the earth-to-sky motif while being a piece of artwork in itself. Weather permitting, the two sky high outdoor terraces are open for sipping cocktails under the sun, moon or stars.
